Som Som,

The earth is richer in these parts, because you were carved from it.

Look how brown your skin shines;

Fresh honeycombs waiting to be devoured by the Sun’s warm embrace.

Look how tall your hair stands;

An elegant poof of the courage deeply ingrained in your veins by your forefathers.

Yes, it is true!

On the day of your creation,

Amadioha locked his lightning bolt away and danced with the earth.

Carefully molding you in the bowels of opulent laughter.

And, when you graced the world, in grandeur.

Your radiance lit up everything it touched.

A kerosene lantern attracting the delicate dance of sandflies.

When you smile, demons find themselves ensnared in their torments,

Rethinking their job descriptions for a day off in your bewitching presence.

For so long,

I have looked past the enchantment that is you.

Searching desperately on the outside,

For the quaking crescendo that only you can bring.

Forgive my foolishness, I see you now,

Tell me, how may I love you better?
